Presentation of Surveys Conducted by Jurbarkas Sport Centre in 2025

Jurbarkas Sport Centre carried out two surveys this year.

The first survey was intended for the improvement of internal communication, administration and coaching work. Parents of trainees were surveyed anonymously and were able not only to answer the closed questions provided, but also to express their expectations regarding activities, the accessibility and flexibility of the Sport Centre, and the quality of services. During May and June, we received 110 responses. The results of the survey were presented to the Centre’s employees.

The second survey was open to the public and was conducted from April to June 2025. Although the questionnaire was opened by more than 1,000 interested individuals, it was completed by 125 respondents. The purpose of this survey was to determine how the public evaluates the activities of the Sport Centre, the availability of information, the accessibility of the Sport Centre, and the events organised by it.

Below we present a summary of the survey and charts.

Residents from various social and age groups took part in the survey. As shown in the charts, the majority of respondents were aged 30–49 and living in the town of Jurbarkas. We also received responses from persons living in Jurbarkas District and outside the district.

It was important for us to assess the level of physical activity among the survey participants. We received encouraging results – almost half of the respondents who completed the questionnaire are regularly physically active, as many as 40% exercise occasionally, and only a very small proportion do not take part in sport at all.

We then sought to determine the level of public awareness of Jurbarkas Sport Centre. The data show that the majority of respondents are familiar with the Centre’s activities. Of these, some are current or former trainees themselves, or have family members who are or have been trainees at the Centre. Others recognise the Centre through information provided on social media or through participation in events organised by us or our partners. Jurbarkas Sport Centre is not known to 7% of respondents.

Jurbarkas Sport Centre not only develops athletes by offering training sessions in nine different sports, but also provides other services, including the hire of the stadium, kayaks, bicycles and trailers, as well as lending sports and outdoor games equipment to social partners. We therefore asked survey participants whether they were aware of these services. For 41% of respondents, the services provided are well known, while 40% are aware of some of them.

The results regarding access to information show that information about the activities of the Sport Centre is most commonly obtained through social media, or by individuals taking an interest and independently seeking information about the Centre’s activities. Other sources of information, such as the press or public notices, are used less frequently. 10% of respondents do not notice the published information.

In the day-to-day activities of Jurbarkas Sport Centre, we must ensure not only the quality of training sessions, athletes’ trips to competitions and sporting events, but also provide answers to all questions that arise. It was very important for us to know which communication channels are the most convenient for respondents. The majority prefer contact by telephone or email. A smaller, though relatively even, number of respondents would prefer to contact the Centre via messages on social media, by completing a form on the website, or by visiting the Centre’s premises in person.

In summary, the chart shows that respondents are most interested in actively participating in sporting events and programmes and would like the Centre to offer such opportunities. A smaller proportion prefer more passive activities, such as educational events or observing training sessions. This indicates the public’s willingness to engage in sporting activities both as participants and as spectators.

It is also very important for us to understand which social groups, in the opinion of survey participants, should be offered more events at Jurbarkas Sport Centre. The survey reveals that the greatest focus should be placed on children, young people and families; however, it is equally important not to overlook other groups in society, such as adult sports enthusiasts, seniors and people with fewer opportunities. Such diversity would enable the Sport Centre to become more open and inclusive for the entire community.

The survey also identified several areas in which Jurbarkas Sport Centre can improve.

Firstly, the accessibility of information and the variety of communication channels. Although social media is the main source of information, some residents still do not notice the Centre’s announcements.

Secondly, awareness of services. Although the Centre provides a range of additional services, not all respondents are aware of them.

Thirdly, the diversity of events and inclusion. The survey data show that Jurbarkas Sport Centre should focus on providing more activities for children, young people and families; however, it is also important not to overlook adult sports enthusiasts, seniors and people with fewer opportunities.

We would like to thank everyone who contributed by completing the questionnaires. These surveys helped to identify areas where Jurbarkas Sport Centre can improve and will assist it in becoming better, more attractive and more beneficial to the community.
